The course is delivered face to face in a classroom setting with the option of an additional online pre-learning workbook prior to the face to face.

Choking and airway obstruction
Envenomation, using pressure immobilisation
Fractures, sprains and strains, using arm slings, roller bandages or other appropriate immobilisation techniques
Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance. There are no prerequisites for the HLTAID003 Provide first aid course. An online First Aid workbook can be optionally selected prior to course commencement. The online workbook link and log in details are emailed to students once enrolment is received. This optional pre-learning takes approx. 1.5hrs to complete and consists of a First Aid course manual to assist students with answering a series of multiple choice questions. Answers can be saved and finished any time prior to the course commencement.
Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate, CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.
Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
Heathcorp’s HLTAID003 Provide first aid course is available in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Australia-wide.
The face to face training is 7.5 hours and covers both theory and practical aspects of the First Aid course. Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or entry may be refused. There is a morning tea and lunch break. Lunch is not provided at the course.
There is a short multiple choice quiz at the end of the training, covering the practical First Aid information learnt that day. Students will also be assessed on practical skills to pass the course. Once completed, all students will receive a First Aid manual.
The HLTAID003 Provide first aid certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date. The Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.
